WHAT I WANT TO DO / IDEAS
For my idea on my sound project I have been really struggling to make an idea on what i wanted to do. Sound is a very important to a film and is quite obviously vital. I wanted to create sounds of my own on a clip which already has sounds , e.g. Foley.
Foley is performed to a film. Foley artists will select all of the props they need for a particular scene and will then use the props to recreate sounds to accompany the film. Most of the time, the sound element of the film is not recorded in the field. It is simply not practical to record all of the sounds required at the quality needed. Typically, films concentrate on capturing the dialogue of the actors and then the Foley artist recreates all of the ambient sounds needed in the film.
I want to re-create sound on a scene of a film. I thought hard about this and thought about many examples of what i could do , i thought about the film FURY and recreating the tank scene , but it would be so hard to recreate the sounds of tanks , bullet , ricochets and much more. You need to think about all the sounds in a Foley , its not going to be easy. The reason why i wanted to do ' fury ' is because the amount of sounds i could create , it would be so fun creating the sounds. However i the amount of sounds in that scene it would be too hard to create all of the sounds , by analysing the scene i would estimate that only little Foley was used in the scene. I needed to a Foley on a scene that has already been used by technique , because then i would know its achievable. Fury was achievable but it's not everyday you come across a sound of a tank. I only want use little archive sounds , this is because i want to create it my self , to push my self further.
